New Options Housing - providing a helping hand

New Options Housing was established in 2010 as a not-for-profit organisation with a specific purpose:

‘To provide residential and supported accommodation services for people with little or no housing choice’.

The service is a National social enterprise supporting some of the country’s most vulnerable members of society.

A vulnerable adult is a person over 18 who is, or may be in need of some form of community care service(s).

New Options Housing provide housing services for vulnerable adults who:
Have social or emotional problems
Have social or emotional problems
Are victims of violence or abuse Have been victims of violence or abuse
Homeless Are currently homeless
Exhibit challenging behaviour; who without adequate support are vulnerable to physical or emotional harm and may be extremely susceptible to many forms of abuse; putting both their general health and personal safety at risk on a daily basis. Exhibit challenging behaviour

We believe that once a vulnerable adult is accommodated in a safe, stable environment then the process of re-building lives can truly begin.

To help support this process, and to ensure the fundamental rights of the individual are protected, New Options Housing takes a ‘person centred approach’, which is reflected in every aspect of our service.

A solid routine, a positive environment and ongoing day to day support help ensure they are able to enjoy their tenancy and avoid the risk of repeat homelessness. Encouragement towards independence and developing self-esteem promotes a feeling of being part of the community, and this positive social development is at the heart of our mission statement.

Our accommodation is integrated into residential areas, and each of our service users is carefully assessed to ensure the housing and support provided will be suitable for their needs.
